Homework 5/2/14

U.S. History II-Your Annotated Bibliography is due on Monday, 5/5.  As i mentioned in class, an annotated bibliography is one step beyond your regular bibliography.  You must write a short paragraph analyzing your source and expelling why you chose it and how it will be useful to you.  If you have a book, I do not expect you to read the whole book, but you should at the very least skim it and determine how it will be useful to you.  I have attached a sample bibliography from the Purdue Online Writing Lab which as I have mentioned before is a great resource for writing any kind of paper. Also, notice the tabs on the left side under annotated bibliography, there are other tabs which you can click on which will give you more info on the annotated bibliography if you feel that you need it.

US History II Period 5 Homework

Pretend you are an American high school sophomore in 1939. Listen to and or read the following document. It is Roosevelt's Fireside chat talking to the American Public about Germany's Invasion of Poland. Take note of some of the things he mentioned about the possibility of the United States joining the war.

After listening/reading write a paragraph diary entry as the 1939 student. Your entry should talk about how you feel about what happened in Poland, what things might worry or trouble you, and if you agree or disagree with President Roosevelt. This an opinion piece, so as long as your opinion relates to the speech and what we have learned about so far in class, there is no wrong answer.
