Read and analyze your documents for the upcoming debate. I need to see some sort of visual proof that you have read these documents. Annotation of the documents, or notes on a separate page are fine. A 1 paragraph summary of each is also fine.

US History II Period 5 Homework

Pretend you are an American high school sophomore in 1939. Listen to and or read the following document. It is Roosevelt's Fireside chat talking to the American Public about Germany's Invasion of Poland. Take note of some of the things he mentioned about the possibility of the United States joining the war.

After listening/reading write a paragraph diary entry as the 1939 student. Your entry should talk about how you feel about what happened in Poland, what things might worry or trouble you, and if you agree or disagree with President Roosevelt. This an opinion piece, so as long as your opinion relates to the speech and what we have learned about so far in class, there is no wrong answer.
